Arbiter Strategy & Media was founded by Byron Wellman, a multi-award winning expert political consultant and public relations strategist with over a decade of experience working at some of the highest levels in American politics. Most notably, Wellman served in a state leadership position for President Barack Obama's Organizing for America, a special project of the Democratic National Committee.
Wellman has a thorough understanding of the business of government, having served as Senior Adviser for Sen. Mia McLeod of South Carolina during her tenure as a State Representative. Wellman also worked on numerous political campaigns including President Obama's 2008 campaign in the battleground state of Florida, served as the campaign director for the 2010 South Carolina Democratic Coordinated Campaign and has played numerous roles on campaigns at all levels of government in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Wellman also has considerable corporate and public sector experience, having worked in media production roles for television news broadcasters, major R-1 research universities and public education organizations.
Wellman holds three degrees; an associates in electronic media production from Ohio University, bachelor's in public relations from the University of South Carolina and a master's in integrated marketing communications also from the University of South Carolina.
